Now that 2017 is almost over and you probably are going to set some new years resolutions like you've have had for the last 5-10 years, I'm going to give you my top 5 recommendations to help you get your desired body of 2018, and hopefully you'll be able to maintain it and set new and bigger goals for next years!
1. Find something that you really like as your exercise!
You want to shred some fat and you heard that you have to do tons of cardio to burn it but you hate running? You're going to fail, period. You love basketball? Fine, use that as your cardio, sprint with a basketball, run around with it, dunk or whatever makes you enjoy your exercise, think outside the box and find a way to enjoy your fat burning.
2. How much do I weight?
Lets say you weight 200 lbs. You decide you should get down to 160 lbs so you can be happy with yourself, like so many people do.
You reach your goal by eating tomato a day and drink one glass of water. Look in the mirror and you see that you look worse than your 3 months old bag of garbage in the kitchen, but still you got down to the weight that you wanted in a unhealthy way.
So what might be the problem here, officer?
When it comes to look the way you want, the fu"#$/" weight doesn't matter at all! Look in the mirror, if you're happy with your results, keep it that way! If you think you're too fluffy, shred some fat, until you like what you see. The weight doesn't matter unless you're competing in a sport with weightclasses.
3. Food over supplements
No pill is going to fix your problems, one of the first things you need to do when it comes to reaching your goals is to go through what you're eating. You've got to get rid of your Ben & Jerry's, throw away your Snickers and give all your Coca Cola to your friend, Tommy, that has given up on his dreams and goals and just accepted the fact that his willpower is as useless as a bottle of sand in the desert. Stop eating the garbage you've been eating, that should be your main focus when it comes to nutrition. When you've got yourself under control, first then you should think about adding supplements to your diet.
4. Don't be afraid to ask questions
You're the new guy or girl in the gym and you see that you look like an amateur, everywhere you go, and you don't like it at all. An average 2 year old trying to break-dance looks more professional than you do when you're hitting the weights. I've made this mistake myself, I looked like an idiot when I was trying to squat the first time and I was afraid to ask for help, that's why I just didn't squat at first. And what did that do for me? Exactly, say hello to Mr. Chickenlegs. I don't want you to make that mistake, ask the staff at the gym or some of the athletics or gymrats that know what they're doing and see if they can give you some tips. Most of them are just cool with it, they also had to start somewhere. And if they react like some fu#)$bag, then at least you know they are the idiots in the gym, not you. Just don't be afraid, ask questions.
5. The day is ruined!
You've got your diet plan and everything is moving forward. One day, you come home from work, dead tired and you fall asleep on your couch. You wake up, with your blood sugar levels too low and you crave for a big, fat pizza. And what do you do? Of course you fu%k up and call Domino's, order the biggest pizza available and wait for the pizzaguy. After you have eaten it, you play some x-box or whatever you like to do. And now comes the problem we need to tackle. You want to eat 8 pack of Snickers, and what the hell, you already ruined the dieting that day, so why not?
Never think like that, if you can't control yourself when it comes to one meal, don't make it ruin the whole day, it only moves you further away from your goals. The day is never ruined because of this moment of weakness, rise up like the champion you are and keep moving toward your goals!
